Edmund & Khim

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Hello!

Merry Christmas! This is my first blog posting as Jean! Hah.

It’s been quite awhile since our last post and we both discussed to make it a point to update the blog regularly but like Shaun mentioned, there is just so much to keep up with that even when I promise to help keep his blog alive, my own job and activities is keeping me busy enough!

Anyways, its a good one week of Christmas break for me and we will be heading to Phuket for a short vacation with friends. I made a quick selection of one of the wedding we took a few months ago. (Ya, which means alot of posting to catchup with…) At Ed & Khim wedding, I had the chance to cover the groom side while Shaun covered the bride.

Here’s some of the photos of the wedding before we fly to Phuket!

Vincent & Soh Peng

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Time flies, CNY is over just like that. In about a month’s time, I’ll be reporting back to camp for my annual in-camp training. Man, this one is gonna be long and tough. A lot of people actually like ICT as they feel it’s a chance for them to escape from their usual routine but for me, if you are doing what I do in camp, you’ll never like going back.

Is it just me or is Facebook really slow. I’m getting a little annoyed by the forever loading mode Facebook is especially at night. Also, for those who don’t check out Facebook regularly, I’ll be updating my work here instead of just Facebook alone.

I’m still working on Vincent and Soh Peng’s pictures but it’ll be completed real soon. Here’s a few images I like.

Group Photos

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Talking about group photos, a lot of photographers shun taking group photos. They are uncreative but yet unavoidable during a wedding ceremony. It is our big day after all and we want to have some photos taken with our families and friends.

There are many genres in group photos and one particular type is the table shots. During your big day, ask yourself do you really need the table shots to be taken or would you prefer your photographer to be engaged in shooting other more important moments? Or would you prefer engaging someone else, probably your friends to cover the table shots for you and to release your photographer earlier? After all, you are paying him not for the table shots right?

Well, group photos can be nice when all of us do our part by not just standing there for the photographer. True, we are not as expressive as the Caucasians but whatever little bit we put in helps. This is a group photo which will bring back good memories for years to come. It reminds me of how crazy the brothers and sisters are during her big day and how much laughter they have just to have this picture taken.

Wei Tat & Evon

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

I realized it has been a long time since I last update this blog. Ever since I started Facebook for the updating, it has been rather difficult to upkeep with the content on this blog. I’ll try to keep the content here fresh, with less duplicate on what you’ll be seeing on Facebook but still, more images from a shoot will be updated over in my Facebook. The selection of images here will be kept minimal so be sure to check out my Facebook too.

Here are some images from Wei Tat & Evon’s shoot. I’ve gone back to the good old way of scrolling down to view the images as there has been a lot of feedback on how slow the gallery takes to load the images. To think that it took me a long long time to figure out how to use this wonderful gallery plugin but oh well….  :(

More pictures from their shoot will be updated in my Facebook over the next few days.

Teck & Erika

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I’m so glad to be able to be a part of Teck and Erika’s wedding. A wedding well planned, a wedding full of fun and laughter. From their invitation card to their banquet menu, everything is well planned and executed. Not to mention, they have one of the most wonderful thanksgiving speech I’ve heard for a very long time. Once again, congrats to both of them.

David & Ee Fen

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I met up with David and Ee Fen a couple of months back and in no time, comes their big day. I was introduced to Ee Fen’s lovely family. Here, I saw a really close knitted family and the bonding shared between the siblings was really heart warming. Her brothers took the whole night to blow the balloons to decorate the house. They also put up a surprise performance at the banquet which moved her to her tears.

Everyone happily snapping away.

Ee Fen specifically wanted me to take a picture of the balloons cos her beloved brothers took the whole night to do it. How nice of them.

Both David & Ee Fen hated durian and David being forced to eat the bread spread with durian.

The sisters wanted an Ang Bao as big as Fann Wong’s..$5,988

The performance by the 2 brothers that caught Ee Fen by surprise.

Daniel & Serene

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Realised there has been quite a number of post on Daniel & Serene, from their bridal shoot in Melbourne last October to their casual shoot in Singapore in May. How time flies, the grand finale of their wedding took place a month back. It was a joy shooting their wedding. Serene’s sisters are really fun and the gate crashing games they thought of are hilarious.

While Serene is busy preparing herself, her sisters are busy with the sumptuous meals..the chilli actually taste quite good. Ha..

Welcome brothers..

A toast to welcome the start of the games.

They are made to dance along Wonder Girls – Nobody..omg

The pretty sisters behind the wonderful (torturous) game. Ha…

Nai An & Clara

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

After one whole week of battling with my harddisk, I finally manage to get back to my work. It has happen to me 4 times in the past few years that my harddisk failed me. That’s it, I invested in a raid system for the ultimate safety.

It was on the day of the shoot that I knew Clara is an avid photographer who shoots with a medium format. She brought along her camera and wanted to do a short little shoot with her camera after her lunch event. When she took out her camera, I was like wow..lucky I knew it only after the event. If not, that’ll give me additional pressure shooting for her.

It was so scorchingly hot everyone was perspiring. We couldn’t even open our eyes.

Tom & Rose

Monday, July 27th, 2009

It seems like it was just not long ago that I did Tom & Rose pre-wedding and before I knew it, their wedding was over quite some time back. Their wedding was held at the very cosy Raffles Hotel. A small intimate affair but certainly a very warming one. It’s my pleasure to be shooting alongside with Edmund too.

It was a surprise for Rose’s aunt, who flew all the way from Hong Kong, to receive the bouquet of flowers from Rose, to celebrate their 50 years of marriage. It’s a really touching moment that move Rose to her tears.

The first dance that follows saw most of their guests up on their feet on the dance floor. It’s a culture not commonly seen from Singaporean weddings.

John & Priscilla

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

It’s amazing to be invited by Priscilla to shoot for her wedding. She’s very busy with her little baby and we can’t really find time to meet prior to her wedding but nontheless, we manage to catch up. Here are a couple of pics of John and Priscilla to share with you guys. Her family and friends, together with John’s are really fun loving people and I totally enjoy myself with the shoot.

John’s friend are really comedians. Everyone was expecting the bride and groom but they made the first appearance before them. Everyone was laughing their heads off.

Their stage game is full of fun and laughter and all their guests had a good laugh. I was enjoying myself so much I almost forgot I’m suppose to be shooting.
